San Francisco is the beating heart of the startup world, and every single week the city plays host to hundreds of events — meetups, demo days, networking happy hours, hackathons, and full-blown conferences. For founders, the challenge is never finding something to do. It is finding the right room to walk into. That is exactly why we publish this weekly guide. Below you will find a curated list of events happening across the Bay Area that are worth your time as a builder, operator, or early-stage founder.
How to Use This Guide
This roundup is updated every Monday with events for the upcoming week. Each listing includes the event name, date, time, location, and a short description so you can decide at a glance whether it is relevant to your stage, sector, or interests.
- Check back weekly — new events are posted every Monday morning.
- Use the location tags — each event is tagged by neighborhood so you can plan around your commute or stack multiple events in one evening.
- Register early — popular events fill up fast. We include direct registration links whenever available.
- Share with your team — co-founders and early hires benefit from these events just as much as you do.
What Types of Events Do We Cover?
Not every event deserves your evening. We filter for quality and relevance to early-stage founders. Here is what makes the cut:
- Founder Meetups — Intimate gatherings where you can swap war stories, ask candid questions, and build genuine relationships with people who understand what you are going through.
- Demo Days — Watch startups pitch live, get a read on what investors are excited about, and sometimes discover your next co-founder, customer, or collaborator in the audience.
- Networking Mixers — Lower-pressure evening events where you can expand your circle. These range from industry-specific happy hours to broader tech community socials.
- Workshops and Panels — Practical sessions on topics like fundraising, go-to-market, product-market fit, hiring, and legal basics. Great for first-time founders navigating new territory.
- Hackathons — Weekend build sessions where you can prototype an idea, meet technical co-founders, or just sharpen your skills.
- Conferences — Larger multi-day events. We flag the ones that are actually worth the ticket price and highlight any free or discounted options for early-stage founders.
Featured Areas This Week
The Bay Area tech scene spans a wide geography. We organize events by neighborhood so you can plan your week efficiently.
SoMa / South of Market
SoMa remains the densest hub for startup activity in San Francisco. You will find everything from Y Combinator alumni meetups to late-night hack sessions at local co-working spaces. Many of the city's accelerators and VC offices call this neighborhood home, so events here tend to attract a highly engaged founder crowd. Expect a mix of technical deep-dives, fundraising workshops, and casual networking at neighborhood bars and restaurants.
The Mission
The Mission brings a different energy. Events here tend to be more creative and community-driven — think design-focused meetups, climate tech gatherings, and arts-meets-tech conversations. If your startup sits at the intersection of culture and technology, this is your neighborhood. Several notable indie VCs and angel investors host invite-only dinners in the Mission, so keep an eye on our listings for those.
Palo Alto / Menlo Park (South Bay)
The Peninsula is still very much alive, especially for founders working on deep tech, AI infrastructure, biotech, and hardware. Stanford's campus regularly hosts research-oriented startup events, and Sand Hill Road firms occasionally open their doors for founder office hours. The South Bay section of our roundup focuses on events that justify the trip south — high signal, no fluff.
Oakland / Berkeley (East Bay)
The East Bay has quietly become a hotbed for impact-driven startups, climate tech, and diverse founder communities. UC Berkeley's SkyDeck and various Oakland-based incubators run regular programming. We include East Bay events when they offer something you cannot find in the city.
